Job summary

Puget Sound Energy's Engineering Operations team is seeking an Engineer II to contribute to electric commodities and innovation initiatives. The role involves providing professional engineering services for planning, construction, operation, maintenance, and analysis of PSE facilities, with emphasis on cost, schedule, and reliability.

The position adapts from Engineer III responsibilities and requires a BS degree or PE license, plus several years of engineering experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree or PE license in electrical, mechanical, civil or related engineering.
• Experience in planning, design, cost estimating and scheduling.
• Strong organization, documentation and project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Applies established engineering guidelines, standards, and procedures to solve routine to moderately complex problems.
• Prepares engineering designs, studies, calculations, and analyses with appropriate review.
• Assists in reviewing technical documents, drawings, and specifications.
• Develops project cost estimates and evaluates alternatives under general supervision.
• Supports project planning, scope development, scheduling, and budget tracking.
• Ensures compliance with applicable codes, standards, and operational requirements.
• Identifies issues and recommends improvements or corrective actions.
• Documents engineering work and shares knowledge with team members.
• Develops solutions that align with PSE's business and operational needs.
• Collaborates with engineers, field personnel, contractors, and consultants.
• Supports emergency response work as requested, including system restoration efforts.
