Job summary

City of Raleigh seeks a Chief Electrical Inspector to lead the electrical inspection program, ensuring code compliance across residential, commercial, and industrial projects within the city. You will provide technical guidance, interpret state and city codes, and drive consistent inspections and customer service.

The role requires extensive experience in electrical inspections, licensure, and strong leadership to advance safety and efficiency in building safety operations.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or G.E.D. equivalency with 7–9 years of residential/commercial electrical inspection experience.
• Level III NC Electrical Inspection Certificate is required.
• Valid NC Class C Driver's License or ability to obtain within 60 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Plans, organizes, directs, and evaluates daily activities of the electrical inspection team.
• Interprets and applies NC Electrical Code and City requirements as the primary technical authority.
• Oversees electrical inspections for diverse construction projects and conducts field inspections as needed.
