Job summary

The City of Raleigh seeks a Chief Electrical Inspector to lead the electrical inspection program, ensuring compliance with NC building and electrical codes and city policies. You will guide inspectors, interpret codes, and promote high-quality service and efficiency in inspections.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of electrical construction practices, systems and inspection methods.
• Ability to interpret construction documents and electrical plans.
• Strong leadership and project coordination abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with diverse stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Plans, organizes, directs, and evaluates daily activities of the electrical inspection team.
• Interprets and applies NC Electrical Code and City requirements.
• Oversees electrical inspections for various project types and conducts field inspections as needed.
• Provides technical assistance to contractors, engineers, and property owners.
• Develops procedures to promote consistent inspections and code interpretations.
• Develops and coordinates technical training for inspection staff.
