Job summary

Med-National Staffing Inc. is seeking a CAD Drafter to support its Electric Utility Engineering team in Detroit. The role combines AutoCAD or MicroStation drafting with data reporting and dashboard development.

You will translate technical requirements into drawings and help improve documentation and processes. The ideal candidate has CAD coursework or drafting experience, familiarity with electric distribution systems, and an interest in supporting engineers through accurate drawings and

Qualifications

CAD operator or drafting experience or college CAD coursework.
Experience using AutoCAD or MicroStation.
Ability to draw components across mechanical, electrical, structural, and architectural disciplines.
Knowledge of standard 3D drafting practices.
Familiarity with overhead and underground electric distribution or substations.
Knowledge of Power BI, Microsoft Office, and AI tools.
Experience with dashboard creation, data tracking, and reporting.
Willingness to meet driving and travel requirements.

Responsibilities

Create and update engineering drawings using AutoCAD or MicroStation.
Draw basic mechanical, electrical, structural, and architectural components.
Apply 3D drafting practices to produce accurate drawings.
Collaborate with engineers to translate requirements into drawings for engineering standards.
Support documentation for overhead distribution, underground distribution, or substations.
Track data and metrics; assist with Power BI dashboard development.
Utilize Microsoft Office and AI tools to support reporting and processes.
Assist with basic PC maintenance and troubleshooting.
Participate in travel as required.
