Job summary

American Society of Interior Designers is seeking an experienced electrical design professional to support CAD drafting and documentation tasks across design projects.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of CAD experience with Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD Electrical, or KiCad, and hands-on use of PLM/PDM systems to manage revision-controlled engineering documentation. Knowledge of electrical standards and industry codes is required.

Qualifications

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Drafting/Design, or related technical discipline, or equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
• Minimum of five (5) years of professional experience producing electrical CAD designs using Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD Electrical, KiCad, or equivalent software.
• Experience developing manufacturing-ready electrical documentation, including electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, bills of materials, and wire/cable schedules.
• Experience developing and maintaining revision-controlled engineering documentation within PLM or PDM systems.
• Working knowledge of electrical engineering principles, electrical components, schematic development, and wiring practices.
• Familiarity with applicable industry standards and codes relevant to electrical design activities.
• Preferred: experience supporting DOE national laboratories, 3D CAD with Autodesk Inventor, CAD model integration, Windchill, and fabrication/assembly/commissioning.

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Drafting/Design, or related technical discipline, or equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
• Minimum of five (5) years of professional experience producing electrical CAD designs using Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD Electrical, KiCad, or equivalent software.
• Demonstrated experience developing manufacturing-ready electrical documentation, including:
• Electrical schematics.
• Wiring diagrams.
• Bills of materials.
• Wire and cable schedules.
• Experience developing and maintaining revision-controlled engineering documentation within Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) or Product Data Management (PDM) systems.
• Working knowledge of electrical engineering principles, electrical components, schematic development, and wiring practices.
• Familiarity with applicable industry standards and codes relevant to electrical design activities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting DOE national laboratories, research facilities, particle accelerators, or complex scientific/industrial engineering projects.
• Experience using Autodesk Inventor for three-dimensional electrical or electromechanical design.
• Experience integrating electrical and mechanical CAD models.
• Experience using Windchill for engineering document and configuration management.
• Experience supporting fabrication, assembly, installation, or commissioning of complex engineered systems.
