Job summary

General Dynamics Land Systems UK seeks an Electrical CAD Design Engineer (Contractor) to join the Design Team on the SV Programme for wheeled vehicles in the UK. Your holistic design approach will weigh safety, cost, and manufacturability across the project lifecycle.

You will produce design concepts, ensure safety and integrity of solutions, and align CAD with BOM while communicating options to the Lead Engineer.

Qualifications

• Pro Engineer Wildfire/Creo proficiency.
• Windchill PDMLink proficiency.
• Experience in design and development of mechanical components and systems.
• BoM management experience.
• Desirable: experience in defence industry.
• Desirable: knowledge of defence standards.

Responsibilities

• Produce design solutions including concepts, packaging and platform installation design.
• Integrity of the design solution, including safety.
• Supporting the design process during the project lifecycle.
• CAD Alignment to BOM at Platform Level.
• Embodiment of Engineering Design Changes.
• Ensure the installation design solutions fulfil the vehicle requirements.
• Preparation of material for internal and external design reviews.
• Effectively communicate design options & constraints to the Lead Engineer.
