Job summary

General Dynamics Land Systems in Sterling Heights, MI is seeking a Power System Engineer responsible for developing Electrical Power Systems including generation, storage, distribution and management for military vehicles, ensuring architecture, sizing, testing and integration from components to vehicle checkout.

You will work with CAE tools (ANSYS, MATLAB/Simulink), CAN bus, and high-power electronics, collaborating across teams, traveling up to 5-10% as needed, and supporting

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or closely related field.
• 5+ years of experience with automotive or military electrical power systems.
• Experience with CAN bus and power system hardware integration.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop electrical power generation, energy storage, distribution and management systems for military vehicles.
• Create and map power load schedules and interface control documents (ICDs).
• Create power system architectures (800VDC, 270VDC, 24VDC) and schematics using Capital Logic or CAMEO.
• Perform CAE analysis using ANSYS or MATLAB/Simulink; support hardware-in-the-loop testing.
• Write electrical power system design requirements and interface control documents.
• Support electrical power hardware component development and test planning.
