Job summary

Motor City Electric Co. is seeking a VDC Coordinator II to develop and coordinate detailed electrical models and construction documentation for commercial and industrial projects. The role works independently on modeling tasks while supporting the Lead VDC Coordinator to meet milestones.

You will collaborate with project management, field operations, engineers, and prefabrication teams to identify coordination issues, improve constructability, and support efficient field installation.

Qualifications

• Experience in electrical construction modeling, BIM coordination, or VDC.
• Proficiency with Revit and Navisworks; AutoCAD and Bluebeam helpful.
• Understanding of electrical construction methods and prefabrication.
• Strong communication and ability to coordinate across disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detailed 3D electrical models using Revit/Navisworks.
• Independently manage assigned modeling tasks per project schedule.
• Identify and resolve electrical coordination issues with architectural/structural teams.
• Participate in BIM coordination meetings and track outstanding items.
• Prepare construction drawings and installation details for field use.
• Update models to reflect RFIs and field changes.
• Collaborate with project teams to address constructability and installation challenges.
• Review modeling work for accuracy against VDC standards.
• Support less experienced VDC Coordinators with technical guidance.
• Communicate progress and potential schedule impacts to VDC leadership.
