Job summary

Atlantic Electric, LLC in South Carolina is seeking a BIM / CAD Technician to support electrical construction projects through drafting, 3D modeling, and design coordination. You will create and maintain construction drawings, assist with electrical layouts, and collaborate with project teams to deliver practical design solutions.

Proficiency with AutoCAD is required; Revit/BIM experience is a plus. Previous electrical construction exposure is valued.

Qualifications

• Previous hands-on experience using AutoCAD is required.
• Ability to read, interpret, create, and modify technical drawings and construction layouts.
• Previous experience in electrical construction, construction drafting, or technical design is preferred.
• Experience with Autodesk Revit, BIM software, or 3D modeling is preferred but not required.
• Familiarity with electrical systems, conduit routing, equipment layouts, or construction installation methods is a plus.
• Experience with construction documents, shop drawings, or MEP coordination is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with project teams.
• Willingness to learn new software, construction technologies, and BIM processes.

Responsibilities

• Create, modify, and maintain technical drawings and construction layouts using AutoCAD.
• Assist with the development of 3D models and BIM documentation for electrical construction projects.
• Support electrical detailing, including equipment placement, conduit routing, and installation layouts.
• Review construction drawings and models to identify potential design conflicts and installation challenges.
• Collaborate with BIM professionals, project managers, field personnel, and design teams to support project coordination.
• Incorporate design revisions and field requirements into construction drawings and models.
• Maintain accurate, organized drawings and project documentation.
• Develop proficiency in Revit and other BIM software through training and hands-on experience.
