Job summary

spsx seeks an Electrical Construction Designer to drive planning, design, and execution of electrical projects in commercial and industrial facilities. This role emphasizes BIM modeling, CAD shop drawings, and quantity takeoffs for estimating and control.

You’ll review designs, maintain BIM content, coordinate with disciplines, and support procurement. Travel to job sites may be required for coordination and model verification.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Technology, or related discipline.
• Minimum 4+ years of experience in electrical construction design.
• Proficiency in BIM and CAD software (Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks).
• Experience with quantity takeoffs and construction estimation workflows.
• Strong knowledge of NEC/NFPA compliance fundamentals.

Responsibilities

• Design and model electrical systems, review drawings, specs, and submittals.
• Develop BIM models (LOD 300–400) for coordination and constructability.
• Create detailed CAD shop drawings and maintain 2D documentation.
• Perform clash detection and BEP-aligned BIM execution.
• Manage drawings in CDE platforms and support 4D/5D linkage when required.
• Provide field support, site verification, and vendor print reviews.
• Generate accurate quantity takeoffs from BIM/CAD for proposals.
