Job summary

Pacific Steel Group is seeking an Electrical and Automation Engineer to support design, construction, and commissioning of the Mojave Micro Mill, transitioning to operations to ensure electrical and automation system reliability across Meltshop, Rolling Mill, and auxiliary systems.

After startup, responsibilities include optimizing performance, troubleshooting, and implementing continuous improvement to maximize equipment availability and process stability in a modern steel fabrication

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Automation engineering.
5–10 years in electrical and automation engineering in heavy industry.
Experience with PLCs, HMI/SCADA, drives, and industrial networks.

Responsibilities

Support electrical design strategy for Meltshop, Rolling Mill, and auxiliaries.
Coordinate with OEMs and engineering teams on electrical/automation solutions.
Oversee selection/specification of electrical equipment (MCCs, drives, field instrumentation).
Lead integration of Water Treatment, Fume Treatment, and other auxiliaries.
Support substation and power distribution design and commissioning.
Ensure reliability, safety, and compliance of electrical/automation systems.
Develop preventive/predictive maintenance and RCA for issues.
