Job summary

National Oilwell Varco in Houston, TX is seeking an Electrical/Mechanical Assembler to read blueprints and assemble electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components. You will install and modify assemblies, conduct testing, and troubleshoot systems to ensure safe, compliant operations.

The role requires hands-on tool use, the ability to work with heavy equipment, and adherence to all safety policies. Office location at 11919 FM 529 Road, Houston, TX 77041 is onsite.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
• Minimum of three (3) years of assembly and/or mechanical experience required.
• Ability to read and understand technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
• Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, and assembly equipment.
• Ability to learn new processes and apply knowledge on the job.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Ability to work with heavy equipment and industrial machinery.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to lift up to 45 pounds.
• Experience operating JIB and overhead cranes preferred.
• Experience operating Class II and Class IV forklifts (Order Picker and Hyster 50–170) preferred.
• Experience working with fall protection systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, assembly drawings, and schematics.
• Assemble, install, and modify electrical, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components.
• Operate hand tools, power tools, and machinery to secure and assemble parts.
• Install finished assemblies and subassemblies according to specifications.
• Assemble and attach functional and cosmetic hardware to products.
• Perform functional, continuity, startup, and operational testing on completed assemblies and systems.
• Troubleshoot equipment and systems, identify issues, and make necessary repairs or corrections.
• Prioritize work activities to support production schedules when required.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Follow all NOV safety policies, procedures, and HSE requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Manufacturing Supervisor.

Job description

This position requires the ability to read technical drawings and schematics, operate hand and power tools, perform functional testing, and support manufacturing operations in a safe and efficient manner.
