Job summary

Hennig in Illinois is seeking an entry-level Electrical Assembler to learn foundational electrical assembly skills in a manufacturing setting. You will install basic components, conduit systems, boxes, and fixtures while learning drawings, safety standards, and assembly processes under guidance.

You will read BOMs, locate parts, review models and instructions, and assemble junction boxes and lighting fixtures.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• At least 1 year of experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Must be able to read and understand English.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret electrical Bills of Materials (BOMs).
• Locate parts using established numbering systems and document usage.
• Review unit 3D models, assembly drawings, and work instructions in computer systems.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and drawings.
• Install pre-bent conduit and secure with clamps and straps per standards.
• Follow schematics to ensure proper placement of conduit supports and components.
• Assemble and install electrical boxes, junction boxes, and lighting fixtures to quality standards.
• Operate power/hand tools and measuring devices safely.
• Use measuring and leveling tools for conduit/component installation.
• Demonstrate safe operation of scissor lifts, boom lifts, and ladders.
• Follow all safety procedures, quality standards, and work instructions.

Description

The Electrical Assembler is an entry level position focused on developing foundational electrical assembly skills in a manufacturing environment. Supports electrical assembly operations by installing basic electrical components, conduit systems, boxes, and fixtures while learning electrical drawings, safety standards, and assembly processes. This position works under the guidance of experienced assemblers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Read and interpret electrical Bills of Materials (BOMs).


• Locate parts using established numbering systems and procedures; properly remove, track, and document parts used for assembly.


• Navigate computer systems to locate and review unit 3D models, assembly drawings, and work instructions.


• Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and assembly drawings.


• Install pre-bent conduit and secure it with clamps and straps in accordance with electrical standards and company requirements.


• Follow schematics and drawings to ensure proper placement and spacing of conduit supports, straps, clamps, hangers, and associated components.


• Assemble and install electrical boxes, junction boxes, and lighting fixtures to company quality standards.


• Operate power/hand tools, measuring devices, and instruments used for assembly.


• Accurately use measuring and leveling tools, including tape measures and levels, for conduit and component installation.


• Demonstrate safe operation and proper use of scissor lifts, boom lifts, and ladders.


• Follow all safety procedures, quality standards, and work instructions during assembly and installation activities.

Requirements

• Education: High School Diploma/GED required


• Experience: One year of continuous experience in a manufacturing environment required


• Reading Ability: Must be able to read and understand English

Skills:

• Accurately interpret and follow blueprints, diagrams, and written assembly instructions.


• Perform mechanical equipment troubleshooting according to inspection procedures.


• Maintain high-quality output and on-time delivery in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Physical Demands:

This position differs from a typical assembly line role. Employees do not remain in one location throughout the shift. The assembly process requires working inside, around, and on top of large enclosures, including the use of scissor lifts and performing work at heights of 16-18 feet. Applicants should be comfortable working in elevated positions and in a physically active manufacturing environment.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, lift and/or move up to 40 lbs., bend, use hands, and fingers for 8 + hours. (Overtime may be required)
