Job summary

Central Power Systems & Services seeks an Electrical Applications Engineer to own electrical solutions from application through manufacturing, testing, commissioning and field support. This role offers relocation to the Kansas City area for an engineer with power generation experience.

You will collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Service, Sales, and Operations to deliver technically sound, manufacturable and reliable power solutions for critical applications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• 3+ years of electrical engineering experience in power systems.
• Strong understanding of electrical power distribution and controls.
• Experience interpreting and developing electrical one‑line diagrams, schematics, wiring diagrams, and control drawings.
• Experience with electrical design software such as AutoCAD Electrical, AutoCAD, ETAP, SKM, EasyPower, or similar platforms.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical systems for diesel and natural gas generator sets and related equipment.
• Develop schematics, one‑line diagrams, wiring diagrams, and control drawings.
• Review customer requirements and develop engineering solutions.
• Support manufacturing with testing, validation, and field installation.
• Ensure designs comply with NEC, NFPA, UL, IEEE and other standards.
