Job summary

FirstEnergy is seeking a seasoned Manager to lead a 24/7/365 electric utility operations team across WV/MD. You will direct skilled personnel, ensure safe and reliable energy delivery, and navigate regulatory and budgetary requirements.

You will foster a high-performing, inclusive culture, collaborate with unions, and drive continuous improvement while guiding strategic initiatives and emergency response planning.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated leadership in a multi-functional team overseeing critical operations.
• Proven ability to drive safe, compliant, and reliable electrical delivery.
• Strong communication and collaboration with unions and peers.
• Experience with budgeting, staffing, and performance management.
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements and safety standards.
• Ability to develop and implement process improvements.
• Experience leading through change and complex incidents.

Responsibilities

• Provide direction and leadership for WV/MD Operations, including safety, reliability, and customer service goals.
• Plan, organize, and control work across multiple substation operations and maintenance functions.
• Collaborate with directors and corporate partners to set milestones and performance benchmarks.
• Interpret collective bargaining agreements and company policies for staff.
• Monitor budgets and allocate resources for personnel, materials, and equipment.
• Lead supervisors, mentor staff, and support succession planning and development.
• Coordinate emergency response and outage restoration efforts.
