Job summary

magniX, based in the Pacific Northwest, seeks a Test Engineer in Everett, WA to develop and execute tests for electric powertrain validation, FAA Part 33 certification, and production acceptance testing. You will collaborate with design, systems, manufacturing, and certification teams to ensure data quality and compliance.

You will design instrumentation, develop data acquisition software, and manage high-power test equipment, supporting DERs and field operations as required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Software, or Electrical Engineering required.
• 5+ years in development or hardware test role.
• 3+ years instrumentation or data acquisition system design experience.
• Experience with electrical systems including HVDC sources and batteries.

Responsibilities

• Define test setups and data requirements with design and certification teams.
• Develop and maintain test plans, instructions, reports, and data sets.
• Design, install, and maintain instrumentation and DAQ systems for tests.
• Develop test cell software using LabVIEW, Python, MATLAB, and data management systems.
• Design and commission high-power electrical test equipment and upgrades.
• Operate dynamometer and test cells for development and certification.
• Coordinate with FAA DERs to ensure compliant instrumentation.
• Support EPU integration into flying test beds and flight tests.
• Track and report test program progress to management.
• Work rotating shifts as needed.
