Job summary

magniX is seeking a Test Engineer in Everett, WA to develop and execute tests for electric powertrain validation, certification testing to FAA Part 33, and production acceptance. You’ll collaborate with design, systems, manufacturing, and certification teams to ensure safe, high-quality data and support DERs and FAA activities.

You will design instrumentation, data acquisition, and software (LabVIEW, Python, MATLAB) for test cells, operate dynamometers, and contribute to test plans, reports, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or similar field.
• 5+ years in a development or hardware test role.
• 3+ years instrumentation or data acquisition design.
• Experience with electrical systems including HVDC sources and batteries.
• Strong mechanical engineering knowledge and hands-on skills.

Responsibilities

• Define test setups and data requirements with engineers.
• Develop and maintain test plans, instructions, reports and data sets.
• Design, install and maintain instrumentation and data acquisition systems.
• Develop test cell and EPU control, data recording and reduction software.
• Design and commission high-power test equipment and upgrades.
• Operate and maintain dynamometer and test cells for testing.
• Work with FAA DERs to ensure compliant data.
• Support EPU integration into flying test beds and flight tests.
• Track and report test program progress to management.
• Work rotating shifts as needed.
