Position Summary
Under the direction of the Shop Manager, the Electric Motor Winder is responsible for inspecting, repairing, and rewinding a variety of electro‑mechanical equipment. This role is ideal for someone with strong mechanical aptitude who thrives in a hands‑on, fast‑paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect electro‑mechanical equipment for damage and electrical malfunctions
- Test winding conditions according to EASA standards
- Document motor data including electro‑magnetic characteristics and operating conditions
- Dismantle and strip damaged or unserviceable equipment
- Prepare and inspect reusable parts for rewinding
- Perform rewinding using proper insulating techniques
- Test rewound equipment and document results
- Operate specialized equipment such as winding machines, surge testers, core‑loss testers, ovens, cranes, forklifts, and power tools
- Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized workspace
- Adhere to company policies and perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
- High School Diploma required; Technical Certification or Associate's Degree preferred
- Strong mechanical aptitude required
- Prior experience as a motor winder a plus, but willing to train
- Experience in industrial, electro‑mechanical, manufacturing, or distribution environments preferred
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office is a plus
- Self‑starter with the ability to work independently
- Comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment
