Job summary

Dominion Energy seeks an Electric Service Worker 1st Class in the Hampton, VA area. The role requires prioritizing work, working alone most of the time, and driving to perform repair and maintenance of overhead and underground lines.

You will respond to power outages, coordinate with Regional Operations Centers, work rotating shifts, and be available for callouts during outages or storm events. Minimum 3 years experience, CDL by end of month 5, pass health assessment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in overhead and underground line work.
• Must pass pre-employment competency assessment.
• Ability to obtain valid Class A CDL by end of month 5.
• Weight limit under 290 pounds.
• Experience with switching practices and safety processes.
• High School Diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Repair and maintain overhead and underground distribution lines.
• Serve as first responder to power outages.
• Coordinate with Regional Operations Centers.
• Work alone about 90% of the time.
• Rotate shifts and be available for callouts during outages or storm events.
• Eligible for premium pay for overtime.
