Job summary

Shenandoah Valley Electric Cooperative, Inc. is seeking a line worker to perform diversified electric distribution tasks under supervision. You will construct, install, maintain and remove lines and equipment on energized or de-energized systems while following safety policies.

Residency in the district is required to ensure prompt response to emergencies. Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED, 1 year of related experience, and Virginia flagman and forklift certifications.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 1 year of experience in electric systems or equivalent preferred.
• Participation in powerline training programs.
• Complete flagman certification in Virginia.
• CDL Class A license required.
• Forklift certification in Virginia required.

Responsibilities

• Construct, install, maintain and remove electric distribution lines and related equipment.
• Work on energized and de-energized lines under supervision.
• Maintain vehicles and SVEC equipment; assist on special projects.
