Job summary

Dominion Energy is seeking an Electric Service Worker 1st Class to perform repair and maintenance on overhead and underground distribution lines and act as a first responder to outages. The role requires working mostly alone, with a rotating shift and call-outs during outages or storms.

The position offers a starting rate of $49.17/hour for fully qualified applicants, with a 15% wage supplement at the Alexandria location and a $275 monthly commuting stipend.

Qualifications

• Must be a self-starter with the ability to work alone 90% of the time.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to meet and maintain NERC/FERC requirements.

Responsibilities

• Repair and maintain overhead and underground distribution lines.
• Serve as first responder to power outages.
• Coordinate with Regional Operations Centers within the Dominion service territory.
• Perform switching, fault locating, fuse replacement, and line work using hot sticks.
• Work rotating shifts and be available for call-outs during outages and storm restoration.
