Job summary

Bird Electric Enterprises in North Carolina seeks a skilled lineman helper to assist with installation and repair of cables for electrical power systems. You will follow plans, use hand and power tools, and work on poles, towers, and underground runs.

Preferred qualifications include NCCER Construction Craft Laborer and NCCER Core Curriculum, 3000 documented hours, 18+ years of age, and strong safety awareness to perform demanding field work in varying conditions.

Qualifications

• 3000 documented hours and DOL-approved lineman program participation.
• Developing knowledge of installation or repair of cables or wires used in electrical power or distribution systems and transmission towers and lines.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Use hand and power tools to measure, cut, assemble, install, test or repair cables or wires in accordance with plans and specifications.
• Help install, maintain, inspect, test, and repair electrical distribution and transmission systems including conduits, cables, wires and related equipment.
• Climb poles or use bucket trucks to access equipment.
• Follow safety procedures and coordinate work with other crews.
