Job summary

City of Anaheim Public Utilities seeks an Electric Field & Operations Superintendent to lead electric system field maintenance, substation work, and automation efforts. You will coordinate crews, manage projects, and ensure safety and reliability while supporting the city’s power delivery to residents and businesses.

The role requires strong leadership, budgeting, and technical expertise in electrical systems, with collaboration across divisions and external agencies for outages and emergencies.

Qualifications

• Five (5) years of responsible electric system field maintenance and repair experience.
• One year of administrative and/or lead supervisory experience.
• Training in electrical system design or electrical theory.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate field maintenance and repair activities across transmission, distribution, street lights, and substations.
• Develop goals, policies, and priorities for field maintenance and repair services.
• Identify opportunities to improve service delivery and efficiency.
• Direct and review work plans, assign activities, and monitor progress.
• Support staff training and address deficiencies; enforce safety procedures.
• Oversee budget development, expenditures, and staffing needs.
• Supervise crews during emergencies and unplanned outages.
• Prepare specifications and oversee consultants and vendors.
