Job summary

PG&E is seeking an Electric Field Engineer to provide technical and engineering services for Construction Management, contractors, and field teams. The role spans field and office work with occasional storm duties and significant travel within PG&E territory.

Initial assignments may include learning related duties and supervising field staff as experience grows. Possesses strong coordination skills and experience with SAP, Unifier, and scheduling tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor in Engineering or Construction Management, or 2 years experience with supplemental education/EIT.
• Valid California Driver's License required.
• Flexibility for extended hours, nights, weekends, and travel throughout PG&E service territory.

Responsibilities

• Recommend and approve changes in construction drawings or specifications.
• Coordinate field engineering work between Contractors, Divisions and General Construction.
• Solve simple and complex engineering problems.
• Layout construction plans.
• Possibly act as assistant supervisor on large projects.
• Direct activities of crews on assignments needing construction engineering expertise.
• Audit work under construction for current standards and regulations.
• Develop project timelines and milestones; perform scheduling and forecasting.
• Support construction supervisor and foreman with technical engineering input.
• Inspect and monitor contractor work for compliance with specs.
• Supervise foremen and field personnel.
• Work with project management to evaluate scope and execute on time and budget.
• Verify and order materials to contractor yards via SAP.
• Review contractor invoices for accuracy and payment.
• Track project status through Unifier.
