Job summary

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering or Construction Management, or 2 years experience with supplemental education/EIT.
• Valid California Driver's License or ability to obtain one by start of employment.
• Ability to work flexible schedules, extended hours, nights, weekends, and/or overtime.
• Ability to travel within PG&E service territory; up to 50–75% may be required.
• Must wear PPE and FR clothing.

Responsibilities

• Recommend and approve changes in construction drawings or specifications.
• Coordinate field engineering work between Contractors, Divisions and General Construction.
• Solve simple and complex engineering problems.
• Layout construction plans.
• May be required to perform duties as an assistant supervisor when size of project requires.
• Direct the activities of employees or crews on job assignments requiring construction engineering expertise.
• Audit work under construction for current construction standards, rules, and regulations.
• Develop Project timelines and milestones; perform scheduling and forecasting.
• Support construction supervisor and foreman by providing technical and engineering expertise in the construction of the project.
• Inspects and monitors the work of contractors to assure compliance with specifications and plans.
• Supervises foreman, other field engineers, field engineering technicians and other similar field personnel.
• Work with the project management team to evaluate scope and execute work on time and within budget.
• Verify and order materials to contractor yards through SAP.
• Review and audit contractor invoices for accuracy and payment.
• Track status of projects through Unifier.
