Job summary

PG&E is seeking an Environmental Field Specialist to monitor environmental compliance for gas and electric projects. The role involves field and office work with cross-functional teams, regulatory coordination, and hands-on oversight of environmental tasks.

The position requires traveling up to 30% with overnight stays; it is hybrid with 30% time in field or office. A strong background in environmental regulations and HazWOPER training is preferred.

Qualifications

• BS/BA degree in appropriate technical discipline (such as Environmental Sciences, Chemistry, Engineering, Physics, Geology, Hydrology etc.) or equivalent level of experience.
• Must have 4 years of relevant experience, including as a lead on moderate scale projects projects. Demonstrated ability to work independently on routine job tasks or projects and on non-routine job tasks as a member of a team on large projects with some supervision and guidance.

Responsibilities

• Monitor routine and emergency project and facility activities with potential environmental impacts.
• Provide professional consultation, direction, and training to PG&E and contract personnel for environmental compliance related activities.
• Perform project environmental reviews in support of gas and electric construction projects.
• Evaluate environmental risks by applying internal data management tools and regulatory databases.
• Provide direction on small to large scale projects to ensure air, water, soil, and waste regulations are followed.
• Coordinate with vendors, subcontractors, and labs for environmental sampling events.
• Lead for coordinating regulatory agency inspections and site reviews.
• Oversee submittals of soil sampling work plans, dust control plans, and dewatering plans.
