Job summary

General Dynamics Electric Boat in Groton, CT, is seeking a Systems Engineer to join the Integrated Power Systems Advanced Current Compensation team. The role focuses on requirements generation, system identification, real-time software, and test data processing for electric drive propulsion control systems.

You will work with MATLAB/Simulink, validate data, and review vendor analyses while coordinating with suppliers to deliver compliant components for ship test programs.

Qualifications

  • BS in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science required
  • 0-5 years of post-graduate engineering experience
  • Must be able to obtain DoD security clearance

Responsibilities

  • Analyzing and interpreting simulation results via MATLAB and similar tools to generate reports and recommendations
  • Validating test data and results after system tests
  • Developing and verifying system- and component-level requirements
  • Integrating electrical and control systems per Military/Industrial standards
  • Reviewing vendor analyses and EB reports; reviewing component specs
  • Travel to Middletown, RI for test witnessing and design reviews
  • Travel to Philadelphia, PA to support full-scale testing of the electric drive control system
