Caterpillar Inc. in Mossville, IL is seeking a dedicated assembler to set up, operate, and inspect stators and propulsion modules for electric drives. You will work with fixtures, perform welds, and verify quality against blueprints and gauges.

Role requires a mechanical background, teamwork, and the ability to work overtime. Compensation includes benefits; location is on site with first-shift training in East Peoria prior to starting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent/experience.
• Familiarity with manufacturing processes and procedures.
• Mechanical background or industrial assembly experience.
• Good communication skills and safety teamwork commitment.
• Ability to work overtime, including weekends.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and adjust machines to manufacture, assemble, and test stators and propulsion modules.
• Identify fixtures and tooling for MIG and Plasma weld machines; repair weld flaws and inspect welds.
• Use blueprints, gauges, torque devices to ensure quality conformance.
• Set up and operate CNC lathe for finish parts.
• Operate and form wire coils; inspect and repair wire assemblies.
• Run and monitor automatic/robotic equipment for welding/assembly; test assemblies.
• Operate VPI system for resin sealing in motors/generators; monitor equipment.
• Mix chemicals and apply to parts; operate electric ovens.
• Move parts with hoists; tighten fasteners with torque tooling; use hand/power tools.
• Perform in-process inspections and maintain records.
• Operate mobile equipment; report defects and schedule maintenance.
• Perform general material handling tasks: packing, weighing, counting, labeling.
• Receive and ship parts and materials as needed.
