Job summary

ENTRUST Solutions Group seeks a Sr. Design Technician in Allentown, PA to support electric distribution design projects. The role emphasizes hands-on field data collection, design of overhead and underground systems, and mentoring junior staff.

You will perform pole loading calculations, create construction drawings, and ensure compliance with RUS/NESC standards while collaborating with engineers and crews. Travel to field sites is required as needed.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years in a design technician or engineering technician role.
• Foundational experience in utility distribution network design and pole line design.
• Proficiency with CAD software (AutoCAD, MicroStation) and MS Office.
• Ability to read drawings, specs and utility standards.
• Willingness to travel for fielding assignments.

Responsibilities

• Perform field visits to collect data for design packages.
• Design overhead and underground electric distribution systems and prepare BOMs.
• Provide calculations (pole loading, voltage drop, permitting).
• Develop materials lists and update design prints; support pre-construction activities.
• Mentor junior technicians and manage multiple projects to meet schedules.
