Job summary

US Tech Solutions in Durham, NC seeks an Engineering Technologist II to support electric distribution engineering and assist with design, field evaluations, and project support for distribution upgrades and asset-related work. Qualifications

• Associate degree in Engineering Technology or related field; or equivalent education/experience.
• Experience in electric utility operations, distribution design, drafting, or engineering support.
• Basic understanding of electric distribution systems and utility infrastructure.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, maps, and technical documents.

Responsibilities

• Review Maximo Work Management System daily for new work orders and updates to existing customer-facing work orders.
• Assist with development and design of electric distribution work orders.
• Contact customers by phone, email, or text to address questions, provide updates, and coordinate project activities.
• Conduct field visits to gather data, evaluate infrastructure, and take field notes for design development.
• Assist in design of new electric service installations for residential and commercial customers per Duke Energy standards.
• Create/modify distribution designs and work orders using DesignLite and company systems.
• Prepare construction and design packages per company standards and specs.
