Job summary

Electra Grid Solutions is seeking a Distribution Apprentice B to support experienced linemen in building and maintaining overhead and underground distribution systems. As an apprentice, you will gain foundational knowledge and field experience under Journeymen supervision in energized and de-energized environments.

You will learn to read blueprints, use hand and power tools, practice PPE, climb structures, and travel to job sites while working safely as part of a crew.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Valid Class A CDL required (or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire).
  • Must pass pre-employment and ongoing drug, alcohol, background, MVR, and clearinghouse checks.
  • Must pass DOT physical examination.
  • First Aid and CPR certification required (or ability to obtain).
  • Competency in pole top rescue is required.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in construction, maintenance, and repair of energized and de-energized power lines.
  • Set poles and anchors per safety specs.
  • Maintain company vehicles, tools, and equipment.
  • Learn to read blueprints and understand voltage.
  • Work from elevated platforms and at heights.
  • Assist in assembly and erection of poles and structures.
  • Learn proper PPE usage and safety procedures.
  • Travel to various job sites, with potential overnight stays.
  • Work in all weather conditions and overtime as needed.
