Job summary

Top Tempo Technical is seeking a Field Service Technician for electric buses and high-voltage electrical systems in the Columbus, Ohio area. You will troubleshoot, install, and service electrical systems on transit vehicles, working with high-voltage equipment and related technologies.

The role requires 2+ years in electrical/ HVAC or related fields, E-bus experience, and the ability to read blueprints and schematics. Travel is extensive, and a valid driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• E-bus experience required.
• 2+ years in electrical, HVAC, or related technical field.
• Strong electrical troubleshooting experience, including wiring, testing, diagnostics, and repair.
• Ability to work from blueprints, process sheets, schematics, and technical instructions.
• Valid driver's license.
• PLC and ladder logic experience preferred.
• High-voltage experience and hydrogen training or certification preferred.
• General knowledge of transit bus, hybrid, and/or electric drive systems is ideal but not required.
• Extensive travel is required.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot electronic and electrical high-voltage issues on transit buses.
• Install electrical systems and components on vehicles.
• Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical equipment in the field.
• Repair or replace wiring, relays, motors, lighting, and other components.
• Identify electrical problems using testing equipment (ammeters, voltmeters, multimeters, cable testers).
• Inspect transformers and circuit breakers in vehicles.
