Job summary

Harford County Government is seeking an entry-level computer servicing assistant to support voting system equipment and related field work for Election activities. Shifts are generally 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, with possible early mornings, late evenings, and some weekends, and extensive public contact during Early Voting and Election Day.

Qualifications

• This role requires working knowledge of computers, peripherals, and basic desktop troubleshooting.
• Ability to read maps or use GPS.
• Strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral).
• Ability to operate under training in a dynamic environment.
• Reliable vehicle, valid driver's license, and personal cell phone.
• Must be a registered voter in Maryland.
• Light lifting up to 30 pounds may be required.

Responsibilities

• Identify and connect USB ports, network cables, and power cords.
• Maintain logs, perform basic word processing and data entry.
• Assist Election Judges and staff with voting system equipment delivery and setup at polling locations.
• Provide routine administrative assistance, including packing equipment and forms.
• Troubleshoot polling place issues and accessibility during Early Voting and Election Day.
• Travel between polling locations to support Election Judges and staff.
