Job summary

Town Clerk's Office is seeking Election Inspectors to support voters and ensure a welcoming, organized voting experience. You will check in voters with Poll Pad, verify information, and guide them through the polling place while upholding procedures and confidentiality.

Training is provided to ensure reliable, courteous service on Election Day. Stipends are paid for full or half days, with deadlines to apply and an emphasis on teamwork and accurate record-keeping.

Responsibilities

• Welcome and check in voters using the Poll Pad.
• Verify voter information and follow established check-in procedures.
• Announce voter names and, during Primary Elections, announce the voter's party.
• Issue the correct ballot to each voter.
• During Primary Elections, confirm party selection for unenrolled voters and accurately record that selection.
• Guide voters through the polling place, including directing them to available voting booths.
• Answer general questions and provide helpful, courteous assistance to voters.
• Help maintain an organized and orderly polling environment.
• Follow election laws, procedures, and instructions provided by election officials.
• Protect the security and confidentiality of election materials and voter information.
• At the close of voting, provide Poll Pad totals to the Election Warden.
• Work cooperatively with the Election Warden and other election workers throughout the day.
