Job summary

Health and Safety Council® in Texas seeks an eLearning Lab Proctor to support proctoring eLearning labs and assist Safety Instructors with on-site or off-site training. The role includes opening/closing labs, trainee check-in, and providing training materials and course access.

Ideal candidates have strong customer service and communication skills, can work independently, and follow detailed procedures in a quiet environment. Travel may be required to support multiple locations.

Responsibilities

  • Performs daily eLearning lab site opening and closing procedures.
  • Checks in trainees and verifies identification where necessary.
  • Escorts trainee to assigned computer, explains the course and/or exam processes, provides training materials, launches courses, monitors progress and provides technical assistance.
  • Understands testing procedures for each exam and adheres to quality and security measures.
  • Monitors and communicates to ensure adherence to HASC policies (sleeping, talking, note taking, cheating, devices).
  • Verifies trainee scores and posts results when required.
  • Reports unethical trainee behavior to management.
  • Maintains professional and clean eLearning labs.
  • Ensures inventory of handouts, cleaning supplies, and headsets.
  • Reports course problems or discrepancies to Supervisor of eLearning Lab.
  • Assists with classroom logistics and training material inventory as directed by Safety Instructor.
  • Assists in classroom training activities, including testing procedures.

The 30+ year company supports the petrochemical and manufacturing industry domestically and internationally and is positioned along the Houston Ship Channel providing training, occupational medicine, and innovative solutions to the industry. The eLearning Lab Proctor is responsible for proctoring eLearning labs and assisting Safety Instructors in on-site or off-site training.



  • Performs daily eLearning lab site opening and closing procedures

  • Checks in trainees and verifies identification where necessary

  • Cross-train and assist other departments as necessary.


Requirements


  • Thorough understanding of and ability to use Windows Microsoft Office programs, Internet, and Windows Explorer

  • Basic knowledge of computer hardware

  • Proven organizational skills

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

  • Willingness to work at different locations if the company need arises


Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to read, talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to handle training equipment and tools, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl. The employee occasionally lifts and/or moves up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Reporting Responsibilities

The eLearning Lab Proctor reports directly to the Supervisor of eLearning Lab. This position does not have direct reports.
