Job summary

Jobot is a well-established full-service law firm in Northeast Ohio, focused on elder law, including Medicaid planning, estate planning, and powers of attorney. This is a permanent, full-time position with competitive compensation and benefits.

You will counsel seniors and families, represent clients in court and hearings, draft wills and trusts, and help navigate complex elder-law issues with compassion.

Qualifications

  • JD from an ABA-accredited law school
  • Active State Bar membership in good standing
  • Minimum 3 years of elder law experience (Medicaid planning, estate planning, powers of attorney)
  • Ability to represent clients in court, hearings, and mediations
  • Excellent legal research and writing skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills with clients and families
  • Commitment to serving seniors and their families
  • Discretion and professionalism handling sensitive issues

Responsibilities

  • Provide compassionate elder law counsel on Medicaid planning, estate planning, and powers of attorney
  • Represent clients in court proceedings, administrative hearings, and mediations
  • Prepare and review wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and healthcare directives
  • Conduct legal research to stay informed on elder law
  • Collaborate with team to develop and implement strategies

Responsibilities
  1. 1. Providing compassionate and comprehensive legal counsel to clients on matters related to elder law, including Medicaid planning, estate planning, and powers of attorney.
  2. 2. Representing clients in court proceedings, administrative hearings, and mediations.
  3. 3. Preparing and reviewing legal documents such as wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and healthcare directives.
  4. 4. Conducting legal research and analysis to stay abreast of current laws and regulations related to elder law.
  5. 5. Collaborating with other team members to develop and implement effective legal strategies.
  6. 6. Educating clients and their families on their rights and responsibilities, as well as the potential legal implications of their decisions.
  7. 7. Participating in community outreach events to promote our firm’s services and to educate the public about elder law issues.
Qualifications
  1. 1. Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
  2. 2. Current membership in good standing with the State Bar.
  3. 3. Minimum of 3 years of experience in elder law, including experience with Medicaid planning, estate planning, and powers of attorney.
  4. 4. Proven ability to represent clients in court proceedings, administrative hearings, and mediations.
  5. 5. Excellent legal research and writing skills.
  6. 6. Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with clients and their families.
  7. 7. Demonstrated commitment to serving the needs of seniors and their families.
  8. 8. Ability to handle sensitive issues with discretion and professionalism.
