Job summary

Floyd County Schools Districtwide in Prestonsburg, KY is seeking an ELD Teacher to provide English language development services to identified English Learners and support nonpublic-school students under Title I guidelines.

The role requires a Kentucky ESL endorsement or eligibility for one, and a certified teacher credential. Collaboration with teachers and data-driven instruction are central to the role, with emphasis on planning, assessment and compliance.

Qualifications

• Valid Kentucky teaching certificate with English as a Second Language certification or endorsement, primary through grade 12, or eligibility for a probationary ESL endorsement.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct, evidence-based English language development instruction to identified English Learners in grades P-12.
• Screen newly enrolled students whose Home Language Survey indicates a language other than English using the appropriate WIDA Screener.
• Administer WIDA ACCESS and other required English-language-proficiency assessments per state and district procedures.
• Develop and monitor Program Services Plans for English Learners, including services and accommodations by language proficiency level.
• Differentiate instruction using language-proficiency data alongside academic and classroom data.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers to implement EL accommodations and provide language supports.
• Participate in Program Services Plan meetings, conferences, intervention meetings and other student-support meetings.
• Maintain required records, logs and progress-monitoring documentation.
