Job summary

Cambium Learning Group is seeking a Senior Content Advisor - Product Development to lead innovative assessment product development, research, design, and implementation across statewide programs.

The ideal candidate has deep content knowledge in K-12 assessments, 8+ years of experience, and excels in leadership, communications, and presenting to senior leaders. Willingness to travel 1–10 times per year is required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education, Educational Leadership, or related field and at least 8 years of experience developing content for large-scale summative assessments or equivalent.
  • Deep content knowledge is required.
  • Experience with innovative assessment products and the development lifecycle is highly preferred.
  • Awareness of formative products and district-level literacy assessments is beneficial.
  • At least 3 years of experience leading people, programs, projects, or initiatives in education/assessment environments.
  • Strong principles of assessment design, learning processes, and progression understandings.
  • Experience contributing to TAC is preferred.
  • Comfort presenting to senior leadership and the C-suite.
  • Knowledge of the U.S. Education System and Education Assessment is required.
  • Data-backed, detail-oriented, problem-solving mindset.
  • Adaptable and able to pivot to arrive at solutions.
  • Strong collaboration, communication, and multitasking skills.
  • Willingness to travel 1–10 times per year.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees development of innovative assessment products from research through implementation.
  • Contributes to and executes complex plans vetted by Test Development leadership.
  • Presents in TAC meetings and may present to senior leadership.
  • Manages client and stakeholder expectations and ensures timely responses.
  • Identifies and escalates complex issues and proposes solutions.
  • Collaborates across divisions as needed.
  • Contributes as a senior reviewer to content test development across projects.
  • Oversees and may drive client-facing meetings and standard-setting activities.
  • Drives content and test development training, including standard setting preparation.
  • Contributes to proposal work as needed.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Oversees the development ofinnovative assessment products, including the research, design, development,and implementationof these development efforts.

  • Contributes to and executes a complex plan or solution that is vetted by Test Developmentleadership.

  • Presents in TAC meetings as a contentspecialist andmay present to senior leadership of the division and company.

  • Manages client andstakeholderexpectations effectively and ensures all client and collaborator requests are resolved in a thorough andtimelymanner.

  • Identifiesand escalates complex department-wide issues,seekingand offering solutions.

  • Works collaboratively across divisions, as needed.

  • Contributes to contenttestdevelopment across all projects as a senior-level reviewer, as needed.

  • Oversees and may drive client facing meetings, includingas the content specialist at standard settings, as well as facilitation ofcontent advisory, rubric validation,rangefinding, data review, and otherclient meetings,as needed.

  • DrivesContent and Test Developmenttraining, including preparationforstandardsetting.

  • Autonomously contributes to proposal work, as needed.

Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education, Educational Leadership, or related degree that reflects pedagogy and learning science knowledge (Master’s degree preferred) and at least 8 years of experience developing content for large-scale summative assessments or equivalent relevant experience.

  • Deep contentknowledge isrequired.

  • Demonstrated experienceandfamiliaritywithinnovative assessment products, including the research, design, development, and implementation of development efforts, is highlypreferred.

  • Awarenessof earlychildhoodformativeproducts andexperience increatingdistrict-levelliteracyassessments isbeneficial.

  • At least 3 years of experience leading people, programs, projects, or strategic initiativesineducation, educational assessment, curriculum, or instructional development environments.

  • Highly creative and innovativewith a deep understanding ofPrincipled Assessment Design,learning processes,andlearningprogressions.

  • Demonstrated experience contributing to Technical Advisory Committees (TAC) is preferred.

  • Highly comfortableinteracting with and delivering various presentations tosenior leadership across divisions andC-suite of the organization.

  • Proven knowledge and experience with the U.S. EducationSystemand Education Assessment isrequired.

  • Demonstrated and highly effective thought leadership.

  • Data-backed skills and attention to detail.

  • Ability toidentifyproblems and conceptualize solutions.

  • Highly flexible andadaptive,pivotingasneededto arrive ata solution.

  • Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.

  • Highly skilled in collaboration, communication,and multi-tasking.

  • Ability to travel 1-10 times per year, including trips lasting 2-5 days.
