Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Education, English Language Arts or related field.
• Valid teaching certificate issued by the Pennsylvania Department of Education.
• Minimum five years teaching experience.
• Knowledge of instruction, curriculum and high-quality instructional strategies for ELA.
• Experience in teaching English Language Arts.
• Knowledge of research-based interventions.
• Strong background in PD, data assessment and instructional coaching.
• Understanding of diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging, including culturally relevant pedagogy.
• Ability to analyze assessment data to inform goals and evaluate program effectiveness.
• Understanding of Pennsylvania State standards.
• Awareness of needs of ethnic and marginalized students and poverty.
• Computer technology and software skills.
• Strong knowledge of culturally responsive teaching.
• Clearances: Act 34, Act 151, FBI (self-paid); Drug Screening (self-paid).

Responsibilities

• Teacher Support and Development: plan, implement, monitor and measure English Language Arts instruction.
• Build Collaborative Learning Communities: foster collaboration among teachers.
• Professional Development: stay current and support ELA strategies via co-teaching/lesson modeling.
• Data Analysis: collect and analyze student performance to inform decisions.
• Documentation: maintain records of PLCs, data meetings, assessments and progress.
• Curriculum Support: assist teachers with district curriculum and provide feedback.
