Job summary

York City School District seeks an experienced Network English Language Arts Coach who will collaborate with teachers and leaders to improve instructional practice in ELA. The role focuses on teacher development, curriculum support, and data-informed instruction, spending most time in schools.

The position emphasizes equity, culturally responsive teaching and PD facilitation to raise student outcomes in ELA. Travel within the district is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Education, English Language Arts or a related field.
• Master's Degree preferred.
• Valid teaching certificate issued by the Pennsylvania Department of Education.
• Minimum five years teaching experience.
• Knowledge of instruction, curriculum and ELA strategies.
• Experience in teaching English Language Arts.
• Knowledge of research-based interventions.
• Strong PD, data assessment and instructional coaching background.
• Diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging knowledge.
• Analysis of assessment data to guide goals and evaluate programs.
• Understanding of PA State standards and culturally responsive teaching.
• Clearances and training requirements listed (Act 34, Act 151, FBI, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with teachers to plan, implement, monitor and measure ELA instruction.
• Work with principals and staff to coordinate district ELA programs.
• Lead professional development and co-teaching demonstrations as needed.
• Collect and analyze data to inform instructional decisions.
• Maintain records of PLCs, data meetings and training activities.
• Assist teachers with curriculum alignment and district supports.
