Job summary

South Bend Community School Corp Jackson Middle School is seeking an English Learner (EL) Teacher to provide language acquisition and core academic instruction aligned with Indiana standards for a class of EL students.

The role emphasizes small-group intervention, data-informed planning, and collaboration with the Bilingual Services Department and district staff to support reading and math achievement in a diverse urban setting. Immediate start available.

Qualifications

• Must hold a current Indiana License/Certification in primary grades and be highly qualified.
• Master’s degree or higher preferred.
• Must be ESL/EL/ENL certified or licensed.
• Urban school setting experience preferred.
• Knowledge of WIDA ELD Standards/Model Performance Indicators.

Responsibilities

• Provide language acquisition and core academic instruction for English Learners.
• Design intensive, small-group intervention for reading and math, informed by data.
• Implement scientifically based instructional strategies and varied practices.
• Collaborate with Bilingual Services Department and Title I/II/III staff.
• Administer state standardized assessments and participate in professional development.
