Job summary

Qualifications

• Two years experience with LEP students preferred.
• Knowledge of WIDA ELD Standards for grades 6-8.
• Understanding of effective ELD instructional practices and SLA research.
• Bachelor’s degree in English or related field.
• Certified teachers or candidates in Transition to Teaching.
• ENL License required or willing to obtain.
• Will teach ENL ELA & EL Lab for grades 6-8.
• Advanced English proficiency.
• Participates in required PD during year and summer.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct ELD support 100% of the school day to LEP students.
• Assists instructional staff with ELD instruction and strategies.
• Analyzes EL data with Bilingual Education Specialist to optimize language development.
• Identifies materials and supplies to support instruction and PD.
• Leads ELD practices across the school community.
• Engages families in English language development opportunities.
• Participates in professional development meetings at building level and with Bilingual Services.
