Job summary

South Bend Community School Corp is seeking an EL Literacy/Professional Development/Program Specialist to support multilingual learners. The role assists the Director of Bilingual Services, coordinates programs and provides coaching on SIOP and ELD strategies across the district.

The position requires strong communication, organizational skills, and a solid understanding of Indiana standards and WIDA ELD, with potential for leadership in professional development and data-driven planning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
• Indiana teaching license with ENL or reading endorsement preferred.
• 3–5 years teaching experience across grade levels preferred.
• Proficiency in English Language Development (ELD), SIOP, WIDA Standards, WIDA ACCESS and Placement Screeners.
• Working knowledge of Dual Language Immersion programs.

Responsibilities

• Support the work of the Bilingual Services Department in curriculum, instruction, testing and professional development.
• Provide SIOP coaching and professional development to teachers.
• Deliver ELD/DLI strategies across the school community.
• Assist with planning instruction aligned to Indiana Standards and WIDA standards.
• Assist with annual WIDA ACCESS testing as needed.
• Administer tests to ML students in schools as needed.
• Develop and analyze student data to meet department goals.
