Job summary

Chicago Public Schools is seeking an English Learner Program Teacher (ELPT) to support the Instructional Core for English Learners. The ELPT leads language development initiatives, coordinates EL program activities, and guides teachers in improving EL instruction while engaging families.

The ELPT collaborates with bilingual/ESL staff, coordinates EL assessments, and ensures high-quality, standards-aligned instruction across content areas with native language support where available.

Responsibilities

• Work with administration to support all teachers of ELs and participate in grade level meetings.
• Participate in MTSS to plan curriculum and differentiation for ELs and document in Branching Minds.
• Collaborate with bilingual/ESL teachers to align instruction with CCSS and WIDA ELD standards.
• Coach teachers to implement high-quality instruction and identify assessment best practices.
• Engage in EL data analysis to inform instruction.
• Provide EL program instruction aligned to language development standards and ensure appropriate native language instruction where available.
• Coordinate administration of mandated state-prescribed screeners and ensure EL rosters and ACCESS reports are properly managed.
