Job summary

Christie Clinic’s Laboratory department seeks a full-time EKG Technician/Phlebotomist at the University clinic in Champaign, IL. Hours are Monday–Friday 7:00am–6:00pm, with occasional Saturdays 8:00am–12:00pm; travel to other clinics may be required.

Responsibilities include phlebotomy, EKG testing, and related exams on patients following established practices. Must have high school diploma and phlebotomy/EKG training or equivalent experience, with CPR certification.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of phlebotomy and EKG courses or one year of related experience.
• CPR certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform venipuncture for all age groups.
• Perform EKGs and related tests.
• Conduct lab safety audits.
• Manage general lab supplies inventory.

Christie Clinic's department of Laboratory is seeking a full-time EKG Technician/Phlebotomist at the University clinic in Champaign between the hours of Monday-Friday 7:00am-6:00pm, with occasional Saturdays from 8:00am-12:00pm. This position may require occasional travel to other clinics to support the laboratory department.

Duties include the performance of phlebotomy and EKG testing and other related exams on patients according to established standards and practices.

Job Qualifications and Expectations

JOB DUTIES

• Perform venipuncture, for all age groups
• Perform EKGs
• Perform Lab safety audits
• Inventory Management of general lab supplies
• Maintain lab records and files
• Perform related work as required.
• Train new personnel, if needed
• Potential for travel to other lab locations. Mileage will be reimbursed after employee submits to supervisor.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• High school or equivalent.
• Completion of phlebotomy and EKG course (Can be substituted by one year’s experience)
• CPR

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• 1 year: EKG Technician/Phlebotomy

TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Demands include sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, stretching and lifting up to 35 pounds. Hearing within, or correctable to, normal range, vision correctable to 20/20 and manual dexterity for the operation of office equipment is required.

TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS

Work is performed in a laboratory setting with possible exposure to communicable diseases and electric hazards. Requirements may include working irregular hours.
