Job summary

Corewell Health William Beaumont University Hospital in Royal Oak is seeking a Part-time EKG Technician for evenings. You will perform electrocardiograms across multiple settings, maintain equipment and inventory, and process orders in EPIC to ensure accurate billing.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, completion of an EKG training program or related experience, BLS, light typing, and knowledge of normal and abnormal EKG data. Evening shift, 20 hours weekly.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Completion of an EKG training program or related experience is acceptable.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
• Familiarity with normal and abnormal EKG data and measurements.

Responsibilities

• Performs electrocardiograms in multiple settings including outpatient, ED, and in-house locations.
• Maintains EKG equipment and keeps inventory ready for use.
• Completes all test orders in EPIC to ensure proper billing.
• Performs clerical tasks such as data entry, filing, mailing, and reporting as needed.

Scope of Work

Performs Electrocardiograms in a variety of settings, which could include outpatient, the Emergency Department, and all in-house locations. Maintains equipment. Will maintain sufficient inventory to efficiently operate the EKG services. Performs clerical duties such as computer entry, filing, recording, and mailing and reports as needed. Completes all test orders in EPIC to ensure appropriate charges are processed.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or Equivalent.
• Completion of EKG training, either an exclusive EKG training program or as part of other educational programs. Prior work experience that included performing EKGs may be considered as fulfillment of this requirement.
• Six months of experience as an EKG technician, preferred.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support required.
• Light typing.
• Knowledge of normal and abnormal EKG data.
