Job summary

Yavapai Regional Medical Center in Prescott, AZ is seeking an EKG Technician to perform diagnostic electrocardiograms and operate EKG machines to record heart activity. You will prepare patients, explain procedures, and ensure accurate, high-quality readings while maintaining patient comfort and safety.

You will edit EKG reports, manage supplies, assist in patient readiness, and communicate any changes to the RT or physician, supporting timely cardiac diagnostics within a not-for-profit health

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• AHA BLS certification is required.
• Six months of healthcare experience is required.
• Basic computer literacy is required.
• Knowledge of medical terminology or completion of a terminology course within six months of hire.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As an EKG Tech, you will perform diagnostic electrocardiograms (EKGs) to assess cardiac function. Every day you will prepare patients, explain procedures, and accurately operate EKG machines to record heart activity, ensuring comfort and high-quality readings. To be successful, you must demonstrate strong technical proficiency, meticulous data collection, and excellent patient communication, contributing to accurate cardiac diagnostics.

• Performs computer assisted EKG's
• Edits EKG reports
• Retrieves necessary equipment and supplies for patient diagnostic testing
• Assists in patient/equipment preparation
• Reports observed or reported alterations in the patient's condition to the RT or physician
• Performs other clerical duties as needed

Job Requirements

Required

• High School Diploma or GED
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers - (AHA BLS)
• Six (6) months experience in a healthcare setting.
• Basic computer literacy and proficiency
• Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology or successful completion of medical terminology course within six (6) months of hire.

Preferred

• Acute care experience with Electronic Medical Record or Cerner experience
