Position: EI Occupational Therapist

Location: West Chester, PA

Pediatric Occupational Therapist – Part‑Time, 20–29 Hours Per Week

The Arc of Chester County is a non‑profit organization dedicated to advocating, educating, and providing services to empower individuals with disabilities and their families. This role offers the opportunity to use your OT skills to support children in their developmental years within a supportive environment.

SUMMARY

The successful candidate will provide direct occupational therapy services to children/families on an assigned caseload, and will function as a member of the child’s multidisciplinary team by collaborating with families/caregivers, support coordinators, and other professionals to develop and implement the IFSP/IEP.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Participate in the Arc’s 5‑year Strategic Plan.
• Complete all training and qualification requirements.
• Develop and implement occupational therapy services, including evaluation, ongoing assessment, and setting individualized goals and treatment plans for children in accordance with IEP/IFSP.
• Collaborate with IFSP/IEP team members regarding child/family goals and intervention plans, and act as an active member of the team.
• Provide families and primary caregivers with training and consultation regarding child and family goals, priorities, and needs using a family‑guided, routine‑based intervention model.
• Participate in evaluation for client equipment and/or adaptive devices needed to support IFSP/IEPs and assist in securing equipment through appropriate channels.
• Oversee and coordinate therapeutic equipment needed by occupational therapy personnel or staff to support IFSP/IEPs.
• Prepare for and participate in IFSP/IEP, family, team, or staff meetings.
• Maintain, complete, and submit required paperwork, including child‑related reports and session summary sheets, within required timelines.
• Provide relevant training to classroom teaching staff, COTAs, and volunteers as requested.
• Communicate ideas, concerns, and needs to the designated supervisor or other administrative team members.
• Supervise COTAs for assigned children on their shared caseloads or during student practicums/internships.
• Participate in Arc‑sponsored events.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

• Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Occupational Therapy from an AOTA‑accredited program, with licensure or eligibility for licensure in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
• Knowledge and training in the field of Pediatric Occupational Therapy.
• Knowledge of child development.
• Experience working with families.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

• Ability to obtain required clearances, including Child Abuse, FBI, NSOR, PA Criminal, and Medicaid Fraud.
• Valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and vehicle registration before hire and ongoing prior to expiration.
• Applicable certifications required by funding agencies.
• NBCOT Certification.
• Pennsylvania Occupational Therapy License or eligibility for licensure.
• PA Early Intervention Coach endorsement completed or willingness to work toward it.
• Pediatric CPR/First Aid Certification.
• Mandated Reporter training in compliance with Act 31 and Act 126.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• Excellent organizational, interpersonal, communication, oral and written skills.
• Ability to work independently, set priorities, and follow through on details.
