The Arc of Chester County is seeking a Pediatric Speech and Language Pathologist for a part-time position in West Chester, PA. You will provide direct therapy to children and work with families and the IFSP/IEP team to support developmental goals.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology with licensure or eligibility in Pennsylvania.
• Certificate of Clinical Competence from ASHA preferred.
• Knowledge and training in Pediatric Speech and Language Pathology.
• Knowledge of child development, including very young children.
• Knowledge of feeding, augmentative communication and assistive technology is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct speech and language therapy services to children/families on assigned caseload.
• Collaborate with IFSP/IEP team members to develop goals and plans.
• Maintain confidentiality per agency policies.
• Train families and caregivers using family-guided routines-based intervention.
• Participate in IFSP/IEP meetings and related team discussions.
• Ensure timely completion of required paperwork and reports.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Provide direct speech and language therapy services to children/families on assigned caseload. Function as a member of the child’s multidisciplinary team by collaborating with families/caregivers,supportscoordinators, and other professionals to develop and implement the IFSP/IEP.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Participate, collaborate and/or implement The Arc of Chester County’s 5-year Strategic Plan.
• Complete all training and qualifications requirements.
• Develop and implementspeech and language therapyservicesincluding
• evaluation,ongoingassessment, setting individualized goals,objectivesand treatment planning for childreninaccordance withIEP/IFSP, pending receipt of the physician’s prescription for services.
• Collaborate with IFSP/IEP team membersregardingchild/family
• goals/outcomes and intervention plan. Function as an active member ofIFSP/IEP team and communicate effectively with others on the team to ensure high quality of services. Maintainconfidentiality per agencypolicies.
• Provide families and primary caregivers with training and consultationregardingchild and family goals/outcomes, priorities and needs usingfamily guidedroutines-basedinterventionmodel.
• Participate in evaluation for client equipment and /or adaptive devicesneeds andassistin the securing of equipment throughappropriate channels/sources.
• Provide oversight and coordination of therapeutic equipment needed by the Speech and Language personnel or staff to support IFSP/IEPs.
• Prepare for andparticipatein IFSP/IEP, family,team,or staff meetings.
• Maintain, complete, andsubmitin accordance withtimelines/deadlinesrequiredpaperwork, that includes child-related reports, session summary sheets, as required by the agency, and funding agents.
• Provide relevanttrainingto classroom teaching staff, speech and language support staff, motor support personnel, and volunteers as requested.
• Communicateideas,concerns,and needs todesignatedsupervisoror other administrative team members.
• Participate in Arc sponsored events.
• Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

• Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Disorders from an accredited program, with licensure or eligibility in Pennsylvania.
• Completed or eligible for Certificate of Clinical Competence from ASHA preferred.
• Knowledge and training in the field of Pediatric Speech and Language Pathology.
• Knowledge of child development, includingdevelopmentofthevery youngchild.
• Knowledge of feeding, assistivetechnology,and alternative methods of communication for the young child is preferred.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

• Ability to obtain required clearances, including Child Abuse, FBI, NSOR, PA Criminal and Medicaid Fraud.
• Has a reliable vehicle and an acceptable driving record as per The Arc’s Personnel Policy.
• Possess valid driver’s license, auto insurance and vehicle registration before hire and ongoing prior to their expiration. Applicable Certifications required by funding agencies.
• Pennsylvania Speech and Language Pathologist license
• ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) and Pennsylvania licensure or eligibility required.
• Pediatric CPR/First Aid.
• Mandated Reportertrainingin compliance with Act 31and Act 126.
• OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal, communication, oral and written skills.
• Ability to work independently, to set priorities and follow through on details.
