Job summary

Vertiv Anderson facility in Pelzer, SC seeks an EHS professional to plan, implement, and manage local EHS programs. You will lead safety initiatives, ensure compliance with regulations, and drive continuous improvements to reduce injuries.

The role involves coordinating with the Learning and Development team for training, maintaining safety records, and performing regular safety audits and site walkthroughs. Some travel may be required.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of experience in manufacturing, construction, or warehouse operations.
• Familiarity with construction activities including rigging and loading.
• Strong organizational and research skills.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management and staff.
• Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal communication skills.
• Familiarity with Smartsheet, Excel, Word, and PPT.

Responsibilities

• Establish, promote safety as a core value and drive a positive safety culture.
• Identify and prioritize EHS initiatives in support of business needs.
• Coordinate with Learning and Development to evaluate and develop EHS training for employees.
• Maintain site safety records (SDS, JSA, ergonomic assessments).
• Maintain incident and injury records as required by OSHA and Vertiv.
• Travel for training and cross-facility inspections may be required.
• Conduct safety/environmental/housekeeping facility walkthroughs regularly.
• Maintain data collection and reporting systems for EHS metrics and KPIs.
• Coordinate EHS metrics with Vertiv OS (VOS).
• Ensure new equipment and lines comply with safety and environmental requirements.
• Advise the EHS leader on facility risks and policies.
• Monitor environmental impacts per policy and regulations.
• Establish and improve EHS systems to reduce risk to zero injuries.
• Conduct safety audits and hazard assessments.
• Assist safety committees and promotion activities.
• Support incident investigations and root-cause analysis.
• Assist in Emergency Response programs and MERT.
• Audit contractors and ensure guidelines are understood.
• Typical work week is Mon-Fri days; some after-hours/weekend work may be required.
